Western Burnet
Sanguisorbia occidentials (Nutt. ex Hook.) Torr. & Gray
Annual or biennial herb with strong taproot and freely branched. Leafy stems from 7 to 21 high. Leaves pinnately compound and 1 to 3 inches long with up to 17 leaflets or segments which are narrowly linear. Inflorescence an ovoid to cylindrical spike up to 1 1/2 inches long and 1/3 inch thick. Located in disturbed area and moderately moist places. Found throughout Idaho and identified near Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Medicine:
Astringent.
Growing:
Succeeds in ordinary garden soil. Prefers a good moist soil that does not dry
out in the summer, in sun or partial shade.
